Warning: Falling Branches
Due to dry and hot conditions, trees in the gardens and parks have been losing limbs, some of which are quite large. This occurs because the high temperatures cause evaporation in the wood, meaning that sap is no longer able to reach the leaves and cells at the tops of the trees, which is why they begin to shed limbs.
The dry, hot weather last summer caused weakening and damage to the trees, and this impact is now being seen.
To ensure the safety of our visitors, certified arborists check the trees regularly and thoroughly, both through sight checks and inspections. Furthermore, dead wood is regularly felled and removed to ensure safety. The shedding of limbs, however, is a protective measure undertaken by the trees themselves and can therefore not be anticipated. Branches as well as limbs up to 50 cm in diameter can be affected.
State Palaces and Gardens Management asks that all visitors remain on park paths and expressly warns against spending time under established trees or in their general vicinity, even if the shade is tempting!

Fire Danger in the Gardens
Due to high temperatures and a lack of rainfall, the fields and meadows in the historic gardens and parks are very dry. Open flame or grilling is never permitted in the parks and gardens, but visitors are also expressly asked to refrain from dropping cigarettes, glass bottles, or other trash on the grounds. This will help keep the grounds clean, but it will also help prevent anyone from inadvertently starting a fire in the vegetation.
